Utah - A Celebration of Art and History
Starting in spring 2017, fifteen fiberglass crouching rabbit sculptures will be painted and placed across cities of Utah, US in public locations. The project aims to generate enthusiasm for art and raise funds for the continued promotion of art in the community. Through the crouching rabbit form, community celebrates its history as the home of the revered Dedham Pottery.
Each sculpture will be painted by local artists and sponsored by local businesses (such as Utah payday loans lenders), individuals, and organizations. At the conclusion of several months of public display, the completed sculptures will be auctioned off to support the proposed Mother Brook Arts & Community Center and Dedham Shines.
A bronze-cast version of the sculpture will be permanently displayed as a lasting celebration of our arts and business heritage and a legacy gift for future generations. It will joins over 400 communities across the U.S. who have launched similar projects with fiberglass sculptures produced by Cowpainters, a studio specializing in the design and fabrication of these forms.
